Pongian Church (Jesus Our Living Hope Church) Update

Bible Study

Our bible studies as a church are held every Friday evening from 7pm to 8:30pm (maybe 9pm). We started from Genesis and just last week, we finished studying Numbers. We might do a little bible overview for the rest of the Old Testament so that we can finally start studying New Testament in the month of July.

Please pray for grace, wisdom, and strength for the parents as they faithfully come to study. Most of them come straight from work and one even had to walk about 2+ kilometers from her home just to come study.

Youth Nights

We started teaching our church youth early this year with the YWAM Biblical Education and Leadership Training (BELT, ywambelt.org) teaching materials. Our youth night is every Saturday evening from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. We are now currently in the topic of What is Sin? And Destructiveness of Sin. Please pray for transformation of hearts as we teach them God’s Truth.

Kids Ministry

Because of the start of the Youth nights to try reaching out to our church young people, we tried rescheduling our kids ministry from afternoon to morning. Because of the reschedule our kids started to not attend. We tried to reschedule it back to afternoons but they continued to no longer attend. They do try to attend the youth nights but the activities and discussions are not for their age group.

We temporarily paused the kids ministry while the pastor’s house is being built. Now that the pastor’s (ywam co-staff) family will be transferring to the house soon, we plan on restarting the kids ministry again.

Please pray for wisdom to encourage them to gather to study God’s Word.

Trainings

Pro Audio Seminar

Last April, I attended a Pro Audio Seminar conducted by a Malaysian team from Audio Missions International. It was a wonderful time learning with church leaders and audio engineers the basics but very technical skills in handling and properly calibrating audio tech devices and systems. I’m currently one of those who are tasked to handle the audio systems of the YWAM Baguio base and any potential damage caused by mishandling or mistakes will be quite costly. The seminar really helped in giving me understanding in what I should do and not do.

YWAM BELT Seminar

People from all over the world who are currently involved in YWAM BELT Ministry (Biblical Education and Leadership Training, ywambelt.org) will be gathering in Manila for a 3-day seminar. I will be attending along with BSN staffs and maybe students. Please pray for provision to go and for a wonderful and joyful time together as we connect/reconnect and learn.

Bible School for the Nations Update

We only have 3 students (2 Filipinos and 1 Samoan). The 2 Indian students were not able to come due to an increase of difficulty in obtaining visas to enter the Philippines. We decided to still continue the school due to a collective and very strong impression from the LORD that these three students have very significant calling and that we should pour out all that we can... even for just the three of them.

Please pray for wisdom for the staffs as we guide and teach them God’s Truth from Genesis to Revelation.

Please pray for provision for each of the students (school fees and outreach fees).

Health Update

Last April, I had weeks for extreme dizziness and the right side of my face was numb. I took 2 weeks worth of medicine and changed my glasses and thankfully, the issue went away.

Last May, I had very high delirious fever after doing construction for 3 days. After the fever, blisters appeared on my lips, gums, and nose. I took 1 week worth of medicine (antibiotics and steroids) and thankfully the problem went away.

Few days ago, we were moving sacks of dirt and while I was carrying one sack, the loose ground I stepped on shook and my knee made popping sound. Right now, that right knee is swollen and it’s difficult to walk.

Please pray for healing and protection as it seems a lot of the staffs (and even 1 speaker) are being afflicted with various physical ailments.
