James Ephraim Tabilla has been serving as a missionary with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) for nearly 10 years. YWAM is an international and interdenominational Christian missionary organization dedicated to “Knowing God and Making Him Known.” (Read more about YWAM here, YWAM’s history here, YWAM beliefs and values here.)

James completed the Discipleship Training School (DTS), a short-term missionary training program of YWAM’s University of the Nations (U of N), at the YWAM Baguio Training Center in 2016. In the same year, he became a full-time missionary with YWAM Baguio.

In 2018, he completed a second-level U of N school called Word by Heart, which focused on the inductive study and word for word storytelling of the Gospel of Luke. In 2023, he also studied at another second-level U of N school called Bible School for the Nations. The school focused on studying the whole Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, using a historical and grammatical approach. It also taught how to teach the Bible through a training program called YWAM Biblical Education and Leadership Training (BELT, ywambelt.org).

Throughout his missionary journey, James has been sent on outreaches to different parts of the Philippines and to other nations, including Vanuatu, a Pacific island nation, and Thailand.

He is currently focused on teaching the Bible through evangelism, YWAM University of the Nations schools such as DTS, Word by Heart, Bible School for the Nations, and YWAM BELT, as well as through church planting ministry.

He also serves as support staff at the YWAM Baguio base, helping with the kitchen, building maintenance, construction, administration, computer and network maintenance, and other practical needs. He also helps in worship leading and is currently part of the Base Leadership Team and the Regional Leadership Team of YWAM Northern Luzon.
