This was in 2017, in my early months of being a new Youth With A Mission (YWAM) staff.
There was this one class who had the most absences. They were labelled as the most challenging class.
The school year was ending and it’s now the last time for me to teach this class. I felt that I should finally share my testimony on how I repented and was saved. Before teaching, the whole class asked me to teach for only half of my one-hour teaching time so that they could use the remaining time do other school work. I shared about Romans 5, discussing my sinful nature and how my nature was transformed through God’s amazing grace. After sharing, I encouraged them to pray with me but no one responded.
I deemed the teaching as a failure but something happened: The youngest student, and the most playful one, asked me to teach more. Everyone became silent and were expecting me to share more. Now I have no idea what to do because just half an hour ago, the whole class asked to spend only half of my time yet now, they were waiting for me to teach more about the grace of God.
Having no idea what to do next, I just allowed them to ask me biblical questions. Some guys, who were at the back even went to the front row seats to clearly hear my answers.
It was a fun biblical Question & Answer at end of the school year with the class that was labelled “challenging.”
You then who teach others, do you not teach yourself? Romans 2:21
